A concise guide to ensure your campaigns are properly configured for optimal performance:
- Creative Connection: Ensure the creative is linked to the campaign.
- Start & End Dates: Verify the campaign's start and end dates are accurate — and that the Insertion Order covering it hasn't expired, as an expired IO stops delivery silently.
- Bid Rates: Confirm bid rates are aligned with the campaign's goals and settings. You can start with more considerable bid rates and reduce them after the traffic begins.
- Bidding Goal: On the Goal & risk step, decide whether to run classic manual bidding (None) or set a CPC or CPA goal.
- Budget Configuration: Ensure daily and total campaign budgets are properly set.
- Timezone Accuracy: Check that time zones are correct for both the user and the campaign.
- Targeting Parameters: Verify targeting (e.g., geos, devices, platforms) aligns with objectives — and isn't so narrow that inventory drops to near zero.
- Audiences: If you're retargeting or suppressing existing customers, attach the right audiences under Targeting.
- Frequency Capping: Ensure limits are in place to prevent overserving ads.
- Tracking Setup: Confirm tracking URLs, postbacks or pixels are properly integrated. Pass
{CLICK_ID}for conversions and{COST}if you want true ROI in your own tracker — see Supported Macros. - Safety Rules: Consider one or two Automated Rules as hard limits before you launch, not after.
- Compliance Check: Validate that all elements meet platform policies and quality standards.
- Final Review: Conduct a thorough pre-launch review and test all settings. After launch, run Campaign Health Check if delivery doesn't start within about 5 minutes.
