Minimum Viewable %: buy only placements where ads are seen

Minimum Viewable lets you skip placements where ads are rarely seen. You set a percentage, and PPCmate stops bidding on any placement whose measured viewability is below it. It's available to every account on Pop-under, Push, Display, Native and Video campaigns.

Where to find it

Open your campaign, go to Targeting and expand Viewability ("Only buy placements where your ads are actually seen"). Move the Minimum Viewable slider from 0 to 100% in steps of 5, then save.

At 0 the setting is Off, which is the default. When it's on, the Viewability header shows 1 rule.

How it works

  • Each placement's Viewable % is measured over the last 7 days.
  • Pop-under is measured on its own. Display and Native are measured together, so a pop-under placement is never judged on banner data, or the other way round.
  • A placement is skipped only when its measured rate is below your minimum.
  • A placement is never skipped just because it's new. Placements without enough measured impressions yet are still bought.
  • Push notifications have no viewability measurement, so the setting never skips a push placement.

Choosing a value

  • Check the Viewable column in Reports first to see what your current placements achieve.
  • Start moderate and raise it step by step. A high minimum removes a lot of supply.
  • Pop-under viewability depends heavily on how each traffic source opens its pops, so a strict pop-under minimum mostly cuts whole sources.

Every targeting rule narrows your traffic. If a campaign slows down after you set a minimum, lower it and run Campaign Health Check.

Not on Google, Microsoft, Meta or ChatGPT

These platforms run their own auctions, so the Viewability section doesn't appear on those campaigns.
