Track sales with Google Tag Manager (one click)

If your site already uses Google Tag Manager, you can send purchases to PPCmate without touching your site's code.

Set it up

  1. In PPCmate, open Connected Apps and click Connect on the Google Tag Manager tile. The popup shows your Tracking ID.
  2. Click Download the template.
  3. In Google Tag Manager, go to Templates → New, open the ⋮ menu, choose Import and pick the file you downloaded. Click Save.
  4. Create two tags with Tags → New → PPCmate Conversions, and paste your Tracking ID in both:
    • Tag 1 · Remember the click. Trigger: All Pages.
    • Tag 2 · Count a conversion. Trigger: your purchase event (for example purchase). Value, currency and order ID are read from your GA4 ecommerce data automatically.
  5. Click Submit and Publish.
  6. Back in PPCmate, click Test again. Click your ad, buy, and the tile turns green.

Your campaigns' landing pages get a click ID added automatically.

What gets counted

  • A purchase, with its value and currency, when your purchase event fires.
  • Each order ID is counted once.
  • Purchases without an order ID are skipped by default, so page reloads don't count twice.

Check that it works

Use Preview in Google Tag Manager, place a test order and check that the PPCmate tag fired. In PPCmate, the tile shows the time of the last conversion.

Privacy

The tag sends the order ID, the amount, the currency and the PPCmate click ID. It follows your Tag Manager consent settings.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect on the tile, and pause or remove the tag in Google Tag Manager.
